Laura Grufas

Staff - National Community Organiser and Volunteer Coordinator

Laura has spent the last two decades in senior marketing roles engaging and connecting consumers with iconic brands and products that are sure to be in your pantry, freezer or household draws, you might be eating or using one of them right now! Having lead many high profile innovations and complex projects she has developed a strong ability to harmonize and galvonize high performing cross-functional teams across matrix organisations. A passionate collaborator and people centric leader, Laura delights in mentoring others to help them succeed. She is driven by a curiosity and passion of turning problems into solutions to deliver positive long and short-term results, which is why she is now fully focused on climate action and a dedicated member of the Australian Parents for Climate Action (AP4CA).

Laura feels very privileged to work with AP4CA local groups and witness the amazing energy and efforts members contribute to influencing climate first policies and decisions, on top of their already hectic parent lives. With the current state of climate change and the Federal election looming “It’s crunch time” Laura says, “we need Climate first policies now. I hope you’ll join one of our local groups and get CLIMATE ACTIVE, there is something for everyone to get involved in and no matter how little time you can spare, it all makes a difference. It’s a crucial and empowering time to become a part of AP4CA 14K+ community of parents already active in the race to ensure and create a safe liveable climate future for our children and future generations.”

A very proud mum of two amazing kids, Laura loves spending her spare time in breathtaking Wadawurrung country with family and friends, “We really do live in the lucky country, so I’m determined to keep it that way”. She is working hard at lowering her own carbon footprint and although not blessed with a green thumb, is delving deep into the amazing world of ‘soil’ and composting to develop her veggie garden with her kids and having a lot of fun along the way!

Australian Parents for Climate Action meet and work on the lands of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people and respect that sovereignty of those lands was never ceded. We pay respect to Elders, past and present and emerging, and acknowledge the pivotal role that Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people continue to play within the Australian community.
