Walk for Climate Action

You are warmly invited to join us as we come together in solidarity with local youth and the global climate strike movement on March 25th, 2022. All ages are welcome at this family friendly event.
 
Plans will be finalised in the lead up to this date but so far we've planned a walk / scoot along the Esplanade beginning and ending at the Hervey Bay Sailing Club. Feel free to create colourful banners with climate action slogans to bring along and we will have a supply of Climate Action Now signs for participants to carry.
 
This is a great way to raise awareness in our community and come together along our beautiful Esplanade.

We'll begin with a group photo in front of the Sailing Club (and perhaps along the Torquay Pier) at 7:30am. Walk along the Esplanade looping back to the Sailing Club by 8:30am. The walk will conclude with a shared picnic and opportunities to take further action.

Let's show up and show our community that climate action is important.

Parents for Climate meet and work on the lands of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people and respect that sovereignty of those lands was never ceded. We pay respect to Elders, past and present and emerging, and acknowledge the pivotal role that Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people continue to play within the Australian community.
