2023 PLANNING - Local initiatives

This is your opportunity to have your say!

This session is to bring together as many members of our group and start to draft a plan of what 2023 will look like and how we can have maximum impact in accelerating climate action in our communitie (s). What is your interest, where does your passion lie, how do we put your skills to use and create impact? What are the actions, events and initiatives we want to focus our time and energy on?

Come along and learn about some of the exciting initiatives already happening in some of our communities, feel free to bring along examples that excite you.

You can be guranteed that none of us are life long activists or community organisers, we are however deeply concerned and connected to safeguard the future of our kids and that is powerful. It's amazing what you can learn or achieve given the right motivation.

We don't want this group to be an echo chamber of a few we want diverse perspectives and involvement, that is how we will tackle and win the climate crisis.

Little Climate Heroes Playgroup - Christmas celebration

Join us for our Little Climate Heroes end of year Christmas celebration! We'll be doing some Christmas themed activities, and it will be a good opportunity to reflect on our beautiful group and how we've grown this year.

More about our playgroup:

Our Little Climate Heroes Playgroup is a child-centred space to e empower our smallest ones with the knowledge, passion and purpose to work to protect our environment, advocate for change, and find fulfilment and purpose in community and in nature. In the process, we grown-ups can engage in nurturing our own hope, connection to community and ability to be caretakers and leaders. Our playgroup is aimed at families with children aged 0 - 10, but all are welcome to join in.

We meet monthly at a beautiful community garden - The Goody Patch - where we've got a shared plot to tend. We'll be doing child centred activities, to explore what we can do to look after our planet.

Bring a piece of fruit to share.

Australian Parents for Climate Action meet and work on the lands of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people and respect that sovereignty of those lands was never ceded. We pay respect to Elders, past and present and emerging, and acknowledge the pivotal role that Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people continue to play within the Australian community.
