A parent powered podcast

Posted by Laura Grufas on 19 April 2023

The parent juggle is real. Do you ever wonder what you can do about climate change? What are other parents doing to create change? How are they dealing with the emotional toll of being a parent in an era of climate change?

We are excited to help launch ‘Now What Now’ - a podcast about parents and carers figuring out how to act on climate while navigating their work and family life. Created and produced by Mei and Rosa, two incredible mums uncovering ‘stories’ of how parents are finding their place in climate action to inspire others.

Meet the parents who:

  • Are thinking about the kind of legacy we can leave our kids;
  • Have connected with other families on climate;
  • Created groups for their community;
  • Championed local solutions;
  • Learnt new skills;
  • Got politically engaged; and
  • Met friends for life along the way and more.

Parents who have experienced climate grief, have felt stuck and out of their depth (or overwhelmed) but ultimately have chosen to lead with active hope. They show us that a parent’s love is a powerful thing and what being part of a supportive community enables.

Listen to these raw and honest stories of five everyday parents who are key volunteers or members of Australian Parents For Climate Action, Claire, David, Hannah, Jasper and Louise, and how they found their place in climate action.

We hope you can draw strength, optimism and inspiration from these stories.
Together, parents are powerful.

PS: We’d love to hear what you think. At Australian Parents for Climate Action we are keen to learn about what you are most interested in hearing about and whether this podcast speaks to you. Would you mind sharing your thoughts on what you like about this podcast and what you’d like to see more of? By sharing your feedback here, you’ll be helping our team design more content that parents want more of.
