For the Love of Our Kids - Garage Sale Trail

For the Love of Our Kids - Garage Sale Trail

Community is where we find strength: we build relationships, we find connections, we share our stories, our values and draw on our collective abundance to help each other. Our communities coming together will help protect our environment and safeguard our children's future.

We're gathering pre-loved clothes, shoes and toys from the Buy Nothing Ainslie group to help raise funds for our beloved Ainslie Community Pantry that gives a helping hand to our neighbours that need it.

We recognise that the fashion industry is one of the top emitters and our garage sale of nearly new, good condition clothes is our effort to be promoting sustainable fashion, especially to our children.

We'll have some handmade crafts for sale too, upcycled tin angels, vintage hand knitted tea cosies and some our our rocktivism Planet rocks for the kids to hide around the neighbourhood. We hope to have some mini plant-your-own boxes of veggies/flowers, some face-painting and you can sign AP4CA's open letter, or write your own letter or drawing, to the Federal Environment Minister asking her to make decisions to protect our environment.

You can also sponsor Ainslie local and AP4CA Canberra rep, Amy Blain, as a climate champion to raise funds for AP4CA's advocacy and campaigning: https://forourkids.raisely.com/amy-jowers-blain. Parents for Climate meet and work on the lands of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people and respect that sovereignty of those lands was never ceded. We pay respect to Elders, past and present and emerging, and acknowledge the pivotal role that Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people continue to play within the Australian community.
